> Learn how to monitor and interpret your app's AI visibility metrics

## Your Visibility Dashboard

The GenTrackr dashboard provides real-time insights into how AI platforms are discovering and recommending your mobile app.

## Key Metrics Explained

### Visibility Score

<Card title="What it measures" icon="eye">
  The percentage of relevant queries where your app is mentioned by AI platforms.
</Card>

**How it's calculated**:

```
Visibility Score = (Queries mentioning your app / Total relevant queries) × 100
```

**Example**:

* We run 1,000 queries relevant to meditation apps
* Your app appears in 450 responses
* Your Visibility Score = 45%

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What's a good score?">
    - **Below 20%**: Low visibility, significant optimization needed
    - **20-40%**: Average visibility, room for improvement
    - **40-60%**: Good visibility, competitive positioning
    - **Above 60%**: Excellent visibility, market leader status

    Note: Scores vary by category. Niche apps may have lower scores but higher conversion.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why does it fluctuate?">
    Your visibility score changes based on:

    * AI model updates and retraining
    * New competitors entering the market
    * Changes to your App Store listing
    * Recent media coverage and reviews
    * Seasonal trends in user queries
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

### Sentiment Score

<Card title="What it measures" icon="heart">
  How positively AI platforms describe your app when they mention it.
</Card>

**Sentiment Analysis**:

* **90-100**: Highly positive recommendations
* **70-89**: Positive with some caveats
* **50-69**: Neutral or balanced mentions
* **Below 50**: Negative or critical mentions

**Example Responses**:

<CodeGroup>
  ```text Positive (95) theme={null}
  "Headspace is an excellent meditation app with beautifully designed
  guided sessions. Users love its beginner-friendly approach and the
  variety of meditation topics available."
  ```

  ```text Neutral (65) theme={null}
  "Headspace offers guided meditations but requires a subscription.
  It's well-designed though some users find it expensive compared
  to free alternatives."
  ```

  ```text Negative (40) theme={null}
  "While Headspace has quality content, many users complain about
  the high subscription cost and limited free features."
  ```
</CodeGroup>

<Note>
  Improving sentiment often requires addressing issues mentioned in App Store reviews, as AI models reference these in their training.
</Note>

### Average Ranking Position

<Card title="What it measures" icon="ranking-star">
  Where your app typically appears when AI platforms list multiple recommendations.
</Card>

**Position Breakdown**:

* **Position 1-2**: Top recommendation, highest click-through
* **Position 3-5**: Strong mention, good visibility
* **Position 6+**: Lower visibility, users may not notice

**Why it matters**:
Users asking AI for recommendations typically only try the first 2-3 apps mentioned. Improving your ranking position can significantly increase downloads.

<Tip>
  Track which queries result in better ranking positions. These are your "winning" use cases to emphasize in your App Store description.
</Tip>

## Query Performance

### Top Performing Queries

See which user questions most frequently mention your app.

**Example for a meditation app**:

1. "best meditation app for beginners" - 87% mention rate

3. "meditation timer app recommendations" - 65% mention rate
4. "compare headspace vs calm" - 45% mention rate
5. "free meditation apps" - 23% mention rate

<Tip>
  Optimize your App Store description to include keywords from high-performing queries where you're already mentioned.
</Tip>

### Opportunity Gaps

Queries where competitors appear but your app doesn't.

**Example gaps**:

* "sleep meditation apps" - Calm appears 90%, you appear 12%
* "meditation for kids" - Headspace appears 85%, you appear 5%
* "workplace stress apps" - Competitors dominate, you're rarely mentioned

<Note>
  Focus optimization efforts on closing 2-3 key gaps at a time rather than trying to improve everywhere at once.
</Note>

</Check>

## Troubleshooting Common Issues

### "My visibility score is 0%"

<Warning>
  Possible causes:

  * Your app was just added (data still collecting)
  * App name spelling mismatch
  * Category targeting too narrow
  * App not yet in AI training data

  **Solution**: Wait 24-48 hours for initial data. Contact support if score remains 0%.
</Warning>

### "Sudden visibility drop"

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check for AI model updates">
    Major platforms regularly update their models. Check our [AI Platforms](/essentials/ai-platforms) page for recent updates.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review App Store changes">
    Did you recently update your app name, description, or category? These changes affect AI mentions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Analyze competitor activity">
    Check if competitors launched major updates or marketing campaigns.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Look for negative reviews">
    Recent negative App Store reviews can impact AI sentiment and mention frequency.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### "Data seems inconsistent"

AI platforms can show variation due to:

* Model temperature (randomness in responses)
* Query phrasing variations
* Real-time web search results (Perplexity, Gemini)
* A/B testing by AI platforms

This is normal. Focus on weekly/monthly trends rather than daily fluctuations.
